Hello, I’m Karen Tschierschwitz

About 8 years ago. I was very active in Williams Lake with the Arts Society, and the Potter’s Guild, as well as serving as a board member for the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society.  I am currently a member of Artspace in Creston.

My Story

I enjoy using my own photography to paint a variety of subjects using Acrylic, Chalk Pastel or Watercolor. I enjoy working with clay either on the wheel or using hand building techniques.  I was very involved in my own pottery studio, throwing, glazing and firing a variety of pieces participating at local pottery shows in the lower mainland.  It is always a surprise when experimenting with Raku.

Snowbirding in Southern California gives me the opportunity to return annually to my painting group and renew old art friendships made over many winters in the desert. Attending a variety of classes and workshops have encouraged me to expand my pottery and art experiences.

Painting has become my go to place to be in my own world, enjoying the quiet, while watching my brush strokes create a landscape over a plain white canvas; it’s a restorative process and quite a satisfying hobby.

Karen, the snowbird, will be returning to ARTSPACE March or April of 2023.
